In the heart of Northern Uganda, a new wave of leadership is emerging — and at the forefront stands Jimmy Okulu, a dynamic, passionate, and dedicated young leader who is now vying for the position of Youth Member of Parliament for Northern Uganda.
Jimmy Okulu is not a newcomer to leadership. His journey is a story of commitment, action, and real impact. Having previously served as the Youth Chairman for the Yellow Movement under the able leadership of Hon. Jacob Eyeru — the current National NRM Youth Chairman — Jimmy has proven his ability to organize, inspire, and lead the youth towards a better future. Today, he continues to grow his leadership experience by working closely with the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), a vibrant movement led by CDF General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, further cementing his commitment to patriotism, national unity, and youth empowerment.
Beyond politics, Jimmy Okulu has demonstrated unmatched leadership in the academic world. As Guild Speaker 2023 at Metropolitan International University, Kampala Campus, he amplified the voice of students, fought for their rights, and fostered unity within the university. His time as Guild Speaker is a shining example of his devotion to transparency, accountability, and advocacy.
Jimmy’s passion extends even further through his charity organisation, a beacon of hope that mainly serves communities in Northern Uganda. Through this platform, he has touched the lives of countless vulnerable youth and families, offering assistance where it is needed most — a true testament to his heart for service.
With a strong academic foundation, holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Diploma in Clinical Medicine, Jimmy is uniquely positioned to address the real challenges facing young people today — from unemployment to healthcare and social development. His educational background makes him a well-rounded leader who combines professional expertise with genuine grassroots experience.
Born and raised in the Lango Region, Jimmy Okulu carries the values of humility, integrity, stability, and resilience — values that Northern Uganda is proud of and values that the next generation of leadership desperately needs. He remains down-to-earth, approachable, and firmly connected to the needs and aspirations of his people.
