The political atmosphere in Bundibugyo District is heating up as we head toward the 2026 elections!
Four key leaders are seeking re-election:
Richard Gafabusa – Bwamba County MP (3rd term)
Josephine Babungi – Woman MP (3rd term)
Kiiza Acrobert – Bughendera County MP (2nd term)
Tibakunirya Robert – LC5 Chairperson (2nd term)
But the BIG question remains: Are they still the right choice?
IN INFRASTRUCTURE:
Yes, some roads have been opened or worked on, bridges repaired, and a few markets improved…
BUT are services reaching every sub-county?
Are the roads passable during rainy seasons?
ON THE MATONGO LAND ISSUE:
The case of Matongo Lost Land still lingers.
Communities are waiting for justice and compensation.
Has this matter been resolved transparently?
IN EDUCATION:
Enrollment is growing, but classrooms, desks, and teachers are not enough.
Girls still face sanitation challenges in schools.
Are the current interventions working?
ON HEALTH SERVICES:
Some centers have been built and renovated.
But what about medicine stock-outs?
What about ambulance access and maternal care in remote areas?
As voters, it’s time to reflect…
Who has delivered real, lasting results?
Who listens and acts for the community?
What kind of leadership does Bundibugyo need in the next 5 years?
Who is going back to office—and who should?

Well, while I am l appreciate the incumbents for the work weldone so far,lam also dissatisfied with the guidance rendered by elders of Bundibugyo. They have not done enough. I expected them to streamline the political atmosphere of Bundibugyo by letting those who have served for more than three terms to leave for new people also to rise into leadership. And to be honest,Mr Kibanzanga who has been in leadership since 2001, would be the one guiding our leaders of Rwenzori on how to best lobby bus to my dismay,he wants to die and MP. Mind you, with his post as a chief prince, he would be even the one linking OBR to govt while he is at home or he would be holding a bigger post in govt than an MP,don't you think he would be even a Minister like Kabyanga?
ReplyDeleteI suggest Taban leaves competitive politics and he embarks on our kingdom debt while serving as an guardian politician in Rwenzori. We shall all accord him maximum love and respect
